The Agile Manifesto

A 59 Seconds Agile Article

This article provides an ‘Introduction to the Agile Manifesto’ and looks to discuss what a values are stated within the Manifesto.

Product Roadmap

With the vision in hand, it is important to outline the product evolution life cycle, the type of executive support needed to make the delivery successful, and the budget required to move from vision to delivery.

Focus on goals and benefits, define the path, and tell the story so that the reader understands how your team will make this a reality.

Be certain to make every goal measurable. Unlike the actual delivery of an Agile Scrum project, it is important that the roadmap includes a top-down budget as a guide. Highlight the functionality to be included by creating the first iteration of a product backlog listing critical features in order of importance.

High level timelines for delivery of the most important features are a component of the roadmap. Lower ranked features can be in the timeline with less granularity. Prioritizing of features should be based on value to the business, time, and delivery of dependent features where possible.

User Stories Applied

A 59 Seconds Agile Book Review

User Stories Applied by Mike Cohn is one of our favourite books on Agile User Stories. He then discusses how to go about writing a user story, and provides details of the INVEST criteria that can be used to determine if the story is meeting all of its objectives. Next Mike gives an in depth discussion of who user stories are written for and where to begin when gathering the details for them. The book then discusses acceptance testing user stories, including how to go about specifying these criteria and the responsibilities of the development team and customers during this process.
